Thursday's Ride

This evening I did get to ride Navajo. He did very well. All we did was walk-trot. He doesn't usually trot away from the barn but he did for the past two times I rode him and I am so proud of him. I worked on his stop and using my seat, legs and tried to not as much with the reins and voice. After I had him stopped I would back him up two or so steps. I forgot the first couple of times because it has to become a habit for me. I want to work on teaching him how to sidepass first from the ground then take it to the saddle. So we are gradually going to teach him to learn more respect and how to sidepass. I am looking forward to teaching him these things. I loved my ride becasue he was so responsive and obediant. I did get to ride this evening although I had figured I wouldn't get to. My parents left later than planned and we ate supper earlier than planned so I got to ride. I am looking forward to tomorrow to ride:) Must run.
