Tuesday's Ride!!

Personally like this one the best!!

Wow I am really happy:) I got to ride for the third day in a row!! Spring must be here. Today was an especially nice day. It was warmer for one and I was out without a jacket..very nice!!
Anyway, Rachel wanted a ride today so I told her I would ride Navajo first and then when I cooled him down she could ride. She said ok that sounds good:) So She went and played on the swing and I got on Navajo. I took him down the strip for the first time. Nothing but a walk since the township tore our yard up real nice. So our strip has nice big holes and clumps of dirt. It was good for Navajo because he was a bit nervous about one of the dirt piles but he did ok and went around it. He only refused twice:)
Since we couldn't ride down there I took him up to the orchard again. Today I realized (dont' know why I never thought about it before) that I have a wonderful conditioning tool in my back yard. A nice huge hill that we can walk, trot and canter up and walk down. Well I took advantage of that and we cantered up the hill a few times toward the end. First we did a lot of trotting and walking around. Today was more of a fun ride (we need that occasionally) becuase we did more work yesterday. He did really well and actually seemed to have quite a bit of energy. Navajo started sweating toward the end but that is a good sign to me because it means we did a good amount of work and also it means warm weather is here :D Well then I hopped off after we trotted up the hill for the last time. I walked him down to the barn and got Rachel. Then we did a lot of circles in the yard..It was a good enough ride for Rachel:) Then we groomed him and loved on him!! Overall it was a wonderful ride.
