Our chorus left on tour on Wednesday, June 5th. We were gone for a week and a half. This was the longest tour I ever was on but I think personally, this was one of my favorite of all the tours I have ever been on. We had a program every day but the last Saturday on tour. I enjoyed spending time with my friends and getting to know people better. I loved the tour of Fair Oaks Farms (Dairy farm) and getting the chance to see a calf being born in the birthing barn :) It was wonderful coming home again though. We arrived home on Sunday the 16th. Our family then, left for OH for the Red Power Round Up show the next day :) Then we were gone for another week (writing about that below). It felt like I was gone so much of the month but I so enjoyed the month. Glad to be home again and looking forward to working with the horses again!

We left for OH on Monday the 17th. We drove to Bluffton, OH and got our hotel. We had that hotel for Monday and Tuesday and then had another hotel for Wednesday thru Friday night. Saturday and Sunday evening we drove two hours then got a hotel. We had a pretty good show and it was quite enjoyable being able to see people we haven't seen for a while. Shows are fun because sometimes you don't see some of the people more than at the shows. Sometimes they come to our house to buy parts but usually we see them at shows. On the way home on Monday we blew a front right tire on the truck on the turnpike. Ray (dad) kept control very well and we pulled to the side and changed the tire. Quite scary but thankful that we were able to arrive home safe and sound. Thankful to God for the safe traveling otherwise and keeping us safe when the tire blew. :)

Riding Daisy, Driving Freedom, and Giving The Horses Baths

Our family had a good time in OH at the tractor show. I will write more about that later when I get the pictures done. Right now I am doing the pictures from the wedding. Really having fun with them. Later this week I am going to be doing pictures of one of Anthony and Lori's girls. Anyway now for what I have been doing with the horses!

Yesterday after we got home from OH with the family I loved on the horses and rode Daisy bridleless around the meadow a bit..that was a lot of fun!

Today I rode Daisy in the snaffle bit. I was getting her to move her hindquarters and forquarters both left and right. She did amazingly well. I also got her to back up, using very light hands on the reins. She has done so well with backing up. Alyson was at the barn so I got her to watch me ride Daisy at a trot and so she laid out two poles so I could trot over them. I plan to work Daisy with that more. After I was done with riding Daisy, I unsaddled her and then gave her a bath. After her bath I tied her out.

I got Freedom and drove him. He did so great. I was pleased with how well he drove. We drove the whole way out to the end of the driveway. Once we were done driving I gave him a bath too. I had quite the enjoyable evening with the horses!! Plan to ride again tomorrow evening!

Rough and Tumble - Spring Show 2013

Our Stand

Rough and Tumble is a local show, about 30 minutes away. We set up on Friday, May 24th and tore down on Saturday. Friday it was a bit rainy but Saturday turned out to be a nice day. It was great seeing customers we knew as well as new people!

These are just photos I shot on Friday before heading to the cabin with the youth :)

Thursday and Mini Tour with the Chorus

Thursday I didn't ride but I worked with Daisy. I put the bridle with the snaffle on her and then lunged her like that. I had done this before when I had her here at home back when I first got her. She had responded really well to that then so I decided to do it once again. I started her at a trot and she responded well to the bit being in her mouth. I was really pleased with how well she stopped and changed directions when asked, sped up and slowed down, and stopped. Daisy did really well. Once I was done lunging her I praised her for doing so well.

Friday I didn't do anything with Daisy or Freedom because it rained by the time I got up there. I was slightly disappointed but I had been helping my dad, taking lots of pictures and putting things away :)

Saturday I didn't do anything with the horses either because I left for mini tour with the chorus.

Sunday we returned from mini tour and sang at Lebanon Valley Church (it is one of the churches in our district) and after church Rose Mary and I went to say hi to the horses on the way home. I wanted to just love on them a bit. Tonight I plan to work with Daisy at least and hopefully Freedom too. We shall see!

Mini tour was a lot of fun and I am so excited for main tour. :)

My sister, Rose Mary, and I work together now since I quit my job at Pellman Foods :) So since we work a lot together we get the chance tease each other as well as have a lot of fun. Part of that fun today included putting tractor grease on each others faces. Not sure exactly who started it and why it started but it ended up we got grease on our fingers. First we put it on our fingers from whatever we could find in our barn (and believe me since we have a business which deals in tractor parts there is a lot of grease in the barn) and ran after each other putting grease on each others faces. It was quite fun..Sure we are silly sometimes but it is just part of the joy of being sisters :)

Raindrops, Favorite Things, Sunday and Monday!

 Raindrops on the Window
Favorite things about Fall: falling leaves, Pumpkin Spice Latte, my horses growing their winter coats, the cooler air :)
Original pic of raindrops on the window

Sunday evening since it was raining I didn't do anything much with the horses all except put a blanket on Daisy and Freedom. It was Freedom's first time with the blanket but he did good and it looked nice on him. I gave them their hay and grain then headed home.

Monday: I honestly didn't do much last night either :D It was a Monday for one and by the time I got up there it was later then normal. Anyway I got Freedom out of the meadow and groomed him then put his blanket on again. I loved on Daisy a bit too. After giving them their grain and hay I headed home.

I did work on my dress a bit, last night, that I have been wanting to sew and then tonight (Tuesday) I redid our website. Mainly I just moved it to a new server. I had it on 110mb.com and now it is on Bluehost.com. I am planning on doing a lot of redoing to the website so we shall see how that all turns out. www.raysihparts.com Hope you have a great rest of the day!

Elkhart IN!

Ok so you all know that we are away on a trip =D Anyway we left Thursday around 10:15 (that was after we ate breakfast and took care of last minute errans and such). We drove till around 6 or so that evening and I guess stopped somewhere close to Cleavland (sp) OH. We had a few breaks along the way and also stopped to eat but pretty much otherwise drove straight thru =) Then we got up decent time in the morning and hit the road around 9:30 Friday. We drove that day till about 4 or so. We stopped in Elkhart IN. We are here till Monday and then Monday we are going to drive to LaPorte IN which is where Red Power Round Up is going to be. That is the tractor show. We are going to be in LaPorte most likely till the next Monday although I am not positvie on that. So that is how life is going so far. I am enjoying myself for the most part. I miss Navajo though =D That is normal..hehe. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and talk soon!

Danville PlowDay 2010

And we are back..Again:) If you are wondering where I disappeared to I was in Danville PA at a Plow Day. We left Friday a bit before lunch and got up there around 2:30 p.m. We had quite the traffic on the way up there. I slept most of the way..hehe. When we got there it was about 70 or so degrees. We set up and ate some hamburgers. Then for the rest of the day it was a bit drizzly. It didn't really rain the whole time just off and on. We went back to the hotel, got some supper and some rest.

Saturday morning we got up around six something and got dressed and went outside. SURPRISE. It was freezing cold. No rain just really windy and cold AND we had no jacket for my dad. My mom had forgotten to grab his. So we ate some breakfast and wen to the Salvation Army store and got him a jacket. It was cold all day. This was the day when everyone that is going to be at the show is at the show. I think they said the total amount of registered tractors was 170. That is a good amount. It was a lot of fun because we got to see a lot of old friends and some new ones as well:) We left there around 3:30. We drove home Sunday.
